The European Commission released the Communication laying down the details of a new Circular Economy Action Plan – one of the main blocks of the European Green Deal, Europe’s new agenda for sustainable growth.
In conformity with Drive 0’s underlying principles and objectives, the new Action Plan announces initiatives along the entire life cycle of products, targeting for example their design, promoting circular economy processes, fostering sustainable consumption, and aiming to ensure that the resources used are kept in the EU economy for as long as possible.
In this context, the project consortium believes that the proposed measures are in agreement with Drive 0’s aims to help a successful transition in the construction industry and to support a gradual total decarbonisation of the total European building stock by fostering the circularity and sustainability of buildings. This communication also comes to reinforce the relevance of the project in Europe’s pursuit of meeting environment and climate goals.
Drive 0’s innovative and holistic approach to building circularity and its soon to be proposed policies, in line with announced actions behind the European Commission new Circular Economy Action Plan for a Cleaner and More Competitive Europe, are key to ensure a fair and inclusive transition towards a decarbonised economy and a more sustainable society.
