Zuyd University of Applied Sciences is a public non-profit organization, located in 3 cities (Heerlen, Sittard, Maastricht). Zuyd has 29 professorships and over 14.000 students. Zuyd highly contributes to the development of professions and the region. The current project is in line with one of the three priorities of Zuyd, i.e. “Transition to a sustainable built environment”. The faculty Bèta Science and Technology is most active on this priority, especially the chair Smart Urban Redesign (SURD), led by associate professor dr. Nurhan Abujidi.
